Seven Sundays Thanksgiving Muesli Challenge & Food Bike Drive
Haley and I love great food! One food, in particular, we’ve come to love on our travels, bike adventures and day-to-day living is Muesli.
Muesli is a combination of oats, dried, fruits, nuts and fresh toppings. Muesli can be eaten cold while soaked in milk overnight or can be a great alternative to sugary, processed oatmeal. Healthy and hearty :)
We wanted to share the love of this great food with the Minneapolis youth over the Thanksgiving and holiday season in a fun, covid friendly way.
A few stats about child hunger:
Currently, more than 200,000 children in Minnesota live with food insecurity.
1 in 8 children struggles with hunger
COVID-19 has increased hunger in our communities dramatically, with a projected 1 in 5 Minnesota children expected to face food insecurity in the coming months
One of our favorite Muesli brands is a local Minneapolis Company Seven Sundays. To help combat the challenges of child hunger, we ran a Seven Sundays Muesli Drive Challenge.
Here’s how the challenge worked:
Each day we posted a “Seven Sundays” challenge for a chance for donors to win from select Seven Sundays Muesli flavors.
Donations were made to our Facebook fundraising page or via venmo.
ALL proceeds went towards BULK purchases of Seven Sundays Muesli that was donated to food shelves and organizations in Minneapolis dedicated to fighting child hunger.
Our goal was to raise $500 in funds by Nov. 29th. Take a look below at our final results from this campaign.

Muesli Delivery By Bike To Every Meal In Tandem With Bikes & Bites MPLS
After a successful Thanksgiving fundraiser and Muesli food drive, we had over 180 bags of Seven Sundays muesli and other goods to be distributed to children and families living with food insecurity over the holiday season.
To build upon the success of the initial food drive, we posted up at Donkey Label on December 23rd to gather extra food donations from the community for children and families living with food insecurity around the metro area.
Bikes & Bites provided access to bike trailers that helped us transport the food items by bike to Every Meal in Roseville, MN.
We ended the day back at Donkeylabel with a distanced celebration and air-high fives all around.
A lot of thank you’s to go around to those who helped support this initiative.
Fundraisers
Thank you for supporting the muesli drive, helping raise funds, and raising awareness for food insecurity. We wouldn’t be here today without you!
Thank you for providing a delicious and nutritious meal to those who need it most this time of year. If you haven’t tried a bag of their muesli yet, pick one up and support a local MPLS business.
Thank you for providing us access to your bike trailers, equipment, and joining us on the ride to deliver the muesli. Be sure to check out their upcoming events, including a diaper drive on January 2nd. Volunteer cyclists are needed!
Thank you for your hard work and dedication in fighting food insecurity in our community by filling the gaps to food access that children face. Today’s donations will be distributed across their networks in the metro area to help feed hungry families and children over the holidays.
Thanks for letting us post up at your building, for the extra bikes and helping pack up the trailers for delivery. Also for the fresh, roasted coffee!
Delivery Riders
All the delivery riders, including Bruce Martens and Evan Zaremba. There’s no better way to enjoy Christmas Eve eve than on two wheels with a great group working towards a better cause.
As we were riding down the street I felt empowered and humbled. What started as a small idea turned into an entire community of cyclists, businesses, and non-profits all working towards one goal: making our community a more equitable place.
It’s powerful stuff and I am lucky to have been part of it. In small doses like these, we can continue to make changes.
If you have any initiatives, events or causes you need support with, feel free to reach out!
