Fueling The Future
Ride ‘n eat Youth Program
A transformative cycling, nutrition, and baking program for small groups of youth, ages 8 - 18.
What Is Ride ‘N Eat?
Biked Goods’ provides an adventure-filled, transformative cycling and baking program for small groups of youth, ages 8 -18. The Ride ‘N Eat program is led by a Certified BICP Level II Instructor and Certified Nutrition Coach along with the help of volunteers, who provide positive encouragement throughout the course of the curriculum.
During the program, kids learn basic cycling and cooking skills, cycling and food safety, and other helpful techniques to help them on the bike and in the kitchen.
Why?
Good nutrition and plenty of exercise are the building blocks for strong growth, healthy development and overall well-being for children. Establishing healthy eating and exercise habits early in life can lead to long-term healthy behavior into adulthood
Kids that are more active eat better and stay healthier. Their development is above average on all fronts, including physical, mental, emotional, and social. Studies have shown that kids who eat more fruits and vegetables, consume enough dairy and protein and are active 40-60 minutes daily are less likely to develop chronic preventable diseases such as diabetes and heart disease in adulthood.
Program Curriculum
The Ride ‘N Eat Program consists of 5 classes that teach the importance of exercise and building positive habits with food while bonding with their peers for the ride of a lifetime. You can choose from 1 class or build the entire curriculum into your calendar.

There’s nothing more satisfying than making your own ride fuel! In this class, students will learn the basics of creating their own energy bar using commonly found household ingredients.
After making our homemade energy bars, we’ll wrap them up and head out for a ride together. And last but not least, we EAT! Students will leave the class with other resources so they can continue to make their own snacks at home!
Suggested: Ages 8 - 18

At Biked Goods, it’s our mission to help students develop healthy eating habits for life. This includes:
Eating fresh, minimally-processed food as often as possible.
Including a balance of protein, veggies, smart carbs, and healthy fats.
Adjusting portions to meet health and performance goals
This all sounds good in theory, but how do we do it in a way that’s easy and tastes amazing? That’s what this class is for!
Students will learn the basic principles of building a well-balanced plate, whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and other tips for making meals that taste great!
Suggested Ages: 8 - 18

Grocery shopping is FUN! This class teaches students how to grocery shop while sharing tips and tricks for a successful run to the grocery store.
We’ll set out for a ride to a designated grocery store and will work together to craft a shopping list for the day.
After our grocery shopping trip, we’ll head back and whip up some fun snacks and plates using the foods we gathered from the day.
Suggested Ages: 12 - 18

Games are a great way for youth to engage in free play, build group camaraderie, and work on their cycling and cooking skills.
Bake ‘N Bike Olympics is a day jam-packed with baking and biking games to help kids put their skills to the test.

After a big ride, there’s nothing more rewarding than refueling your body with a home-cooked meal. This class will teach students how to properly recover after a long ride.
We’ll start the day by doing some meal prep before we get out and ride.
Once we’re back from our ride, students will help prep our feast and come together around the table to enjoy good food and the company of one another.

How It Works
1. Partner with Biked Goods
Biked Goods establishes a partnership with local schools, rec programs and other youth organizations. Then invites them to Ride ‘N Eat!
2. We Make a Plan
A program plan is agreed upon and meeting time(s) and place(s) are established. This includes ride routes, group size, safety protocols and communicating this information to relevant parties.
*Plans will take into consideration group size, ages and abilities.
3. Meet ‘N Greet
Biked Goods meets with your group and goes over the plan for the day. Kids will get an intro to bike safety, trail etiquette and go through a pre-ride skills session. Oh, and there’ll be plenty of snacks to go around!
4. Ride on
More than just a ride, we’ll incorporate learning lessons throughout the experience such as how to ride, communicate and respect the trails as a group.
5. Time to Eat!
The ride ends. Time to eat! Kids learn basic baking and safety skills and help prep a homemade snack or meal. Everyone gathers around the table, enjoys good food and talks about the experiences we had together as a group.
